When I was first pregnant with my first child I read everything I could get my hands on about nutrition and read a series of books by Adele Davis. Of course, my first pregnancy occurred in the Indian subcontinent, largely and I was away form most of the western packaged food and had to be inventive. I was.
As a young mother with a growing brood to tend and nurture, I was unable to gad about and around as so many did and my joy was in the groups we gathered around my groaning tables as I fed and fellowshipped with a n assortment of people. I have tended to collect strays (people far from home and without support) somehow managing to be there just at a critical time and for this I am and have been ever grateful.
That is my 5 second history of interest.
I have trodden the weight loss path at times, and discovered ( usually the hard way) what works and what doesn’t.
I have collected a raft of information and recipes and I am sharing them here. I no longer hang a diet tag around my eating choices; rather I look at my personal choices as investing in caring for this vehicle my soul wanders this earth in. I have so much to live for that I want to ensure this machine is in the optimum condition. I do not believe choosing to eat well and exercise well should be seen in myself or from outside as deprivation. In fact, the food I cook most of my children and those who have eaten of my fare have never complained nor do they realise just how healthy what I serve is.
